Pilates was created in the early 1900's by Joseph Pilates, a physical-culturist from Germany. Joe believed that mental and physical health are interrelated and his technique was a complete coordination of mind, body and spirit. He created a set of Principles, exercises and machines with the desire to create opportunities for functional human movement. Both to counteract conditions from modern day influences, such as cars and computers, to rehabilitating the severely injured.

At Chapel Allerton Pilates, we adhere to both the original spirit that Joseph Pilates founded his system under, and the original teachings of Pilates. We feature a wide array of classes, including group, private and semi-private classes. We also teach and facilitate Teacher Training and Continuing Education Pilates Instructor Courses.

Endorsed by Doctors, Physical Therapists, Professional Athletes and Dancers around the world. Pilates is excellent for the rehabilitation of injuries, improving postural problems & relieving chronic pain all over the body.
